ABOUT MARTIN NOH

Korean-Canadian violinist, Martin Noh, was born in South Korea and raised in Canada. A scholarship recipient at the Eastman School Of Music, Martin is currently studying under the tutelage of Professor Oleh Krysa and has worked closely with members of the Ying Quartet as part of the Intensive Chamber music seminar. He made his solo debut with the K-W Symphony Orchestra in 2015 after winning the KW Youth Concerto Competition. Since then, he has performed as a soloist with various symphony and chamber orchestras throughout Ontario. 

Martin is a 10-time Gold medalist & KW Violin Trophy winner at the Kiwanis Music Festival. In 2017, he was selected as a national finalist at the Canadian Music Competition. He has served as concertmaster of the Waterloo Collegiate High School Orchestra, Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Orchestra, Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Chamber Orchestra and has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada where he has performed and toured throughout Canada and Spain. 

Additionally, he has performed in master classes for Cho-Liang Lin, Atis Bankas, Paivyt Meller, Jupiter and Ying String Quartets, among many others. He currently plays on a violin made by Andranik Gaybaryan in 2018.
